Grants and Scholarships
The Voluntary Prekindergarten Specialized Instructional Services (SIS) Education Program is a funding option available for parents of children 4 years of age, who have disabilities. This funding covers specialized services such as ABA therapy. First Steps has been approved by the Florida Department of Education to accept this grant on behalf of the families to assist with some of the cost of therapy. We are glad to help you apply for the VPK-SIS program.
This scholarship is funded by Step Up for Students and is recognized by the Florida Department of Education. Step Up for students is a non-profit organization that helps administer scholarships for educational needs. Families who have a child enrolled in private school and require additional financial support to provide therapy can apply to the Garnider scholarship. First Steps is an approved provider for the Gardiner Scholarship Program (PLSA). We are glad to help you apply for the Gardiner Scholarship Program.

Health Insurance
FSI is a participating provider of all major commercial insurance plans, including Medicaid. Prior to receiving services we will contact your health insurance company to verify benefits and determine the cost of ABA therapy. If your plan does not cover ABA, or if you are not eligible to receive ABA services, we will do our best to guide you to additional resources or ways to become eligible for services. We are always adding new plans to our list, so if you checked with us in the past, it may be worth checking again!
