Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)
Behavior Therapist will implement acquisition, reduction, and verbal behavior programs, train caregivers, and track progress in order to reduce/eliminate problem behaviors while teaching new replacement skills. Must possess and demonstrate effective written communication skills for record keeping and report writing as well as excellent interpersonal skills.
- Working towards a bachelor’s degree in psychology or related field.
- Completed Introduction to Applied Behavior Analysis (EAB3002) or equivalent course.
- Meet eligibility requirements of the National Certification exam at the Assistant Behavior Analyst level (BCaBA) and pass exam within 18 months of hire date.
- Ability to communicate effectively, appropriately interact with patients, caregiver(s), physicians, co-workers and other health care professionals in all work-related situations.
- Analytical ability necessary to evaluate, interpret, and analyze data; evaluates patient condition, assess patient progress, and determine appropriate follow-up.
- Applies knowledge of growth and development in patient interactions and treatment.
- Computer skills in Word and Excel.
- Knowledge in behavioral assessment, behavior plan development and implementation, data collection and interpretation, and basic knowledge of verbal behavior.
- Memberships to the specific state (FABA) and national (ABA) professional associations and attending continuing education events in order to expand behavioral knowledge are highly recommended.
- Collects behavioral data and monitors the progress of each client through the analysis of the data, ensuring procedural modifications are made as warranted.
- Conducts, under the direct supervision of a Behavior Analyst or Assistant Analyst, thorough functional assessments/analyses of target behaviors and makes recommendations, which may include necessary medical evaluations, environmental accommodations and behavioral interventions.
- Consults with co-workers whose patients require behavioral assessment and intervention.
- Demonstrates and models effective and therapeutic interaction strategies which reinforce adaptive and appropriate behaviors.
- Delivers instructional programming utilizing behavioral reduction methods which consider the individual needs, interests, abilities, and developmental levels of the child.
- Establishes baseline measurements of targeted behaviors and monitors the data for stability, validity and reliability.
- Implements individualized programs, which include acquisition and reduction procedures related to the functions of the target behavior.
- Instructs and consults with families/caregivers in behavior program implementation as well as assisting them in locating necessary resources which will aid in success of intervention.
- Maintains client file by adhering to HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) standards as well as all other behavioral documents (behavior plans, data sheets, graphs, etc.).
- Serves as a member of an interdisciplinary team, when applicable.
- Submits timesheets and daily session notes as required.
- Communicates effectively with manager in regard to schedule changes, responsible for finding coverage if unable to attend session.
- Communicates effectively with supervisor regarding case progress.
- Communicates with parents of cancellation or tardiness.
Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA)
Lead BCaBAs will assist with developmental and behavioral assessments. They will train caregivers and other personnel and monitor behavior programs in order to reduce or eliminate problem behaviors while teaching new or replacement skills under the supervision of a BCBA. The BCaBA must possess and demonstrate effective written communication skills for record keeping, and report writing as well as excellent interpersonal skills.
- BCaBA (Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst) certification.
- Bachelor's Degree in Psychology or related field, emphasis in Applied Behavior Analysis.
- Two or more years of experience working with a pediatric population.
- Two or more years of experience in an applied setting participating in functional assessments/analyses, the development and implementation of functional behavior plans as well as the ongoing oversight and monitoring of the implementation and adjustments to such programs.
- Memberships to specific state (FABA) and national (ABAI) professional associations are highly recommended.
- Ability to communicate effectively, appropriately interact with patients, caregiver(s), physicians, co-workers and other health care professionals in all work-related situations.
- Analytic ability necessary to evaluate, interpret, and analyze data; evaluates patient condition, assess patient progress, and determine appropriate follow-up.
- Ability to objectively train certain members of a diverse multidisciplinary team.

- Ability to problem solve and strategize in order to resolve conflicts that may arise.
- Train and supervise behavior technicians or RBTs.
- Demonstrate and model effective and therapeutic interaction strategies that reinforce adaptive and appropriate behaviors.
- Review and respond, or ensure a response to technician session notes weekly, for all supervision cases.
- Assess technician performance using provided feedback from at least once biweekly for all.
- Ensure collaboration with multidisciplinary team members from the community (i.e. teachers, outside technicians, etc.) and contribute to the development of effective behavior plans and strategies in a variety of settings.
- Communicate with essential multidisciplinary team members on a regular basis.
- Assist with the development of PBIP or other behavior management strategies in academic settings.
- Attend IEP meetings and contribute to the development of IEP goals, when needed.
- Maintain all client documents, administrative and clinical, in compliance with HIPAA standards.
- Meet continuing education requirements for BCaBA Certification.
- Demonstrate personal and professional growth and expertise by remaining current with state and national associations, certifications, and with professional trends.

- Create and maintain skill acquisition programs including verbal behavior, adaptive behavior, pre-academic, and social skills programs for all supervision cases, at least once biweekly.
- Conduct developmental, behavioral and skills-based assessments.
- Create specific treatment goals for directed and comprehensive treatment plans and make clinical decisions about the progress and direction of the treatment plan.
- Create novel instructional programming that considers the individual’s developmental and adaptive needs, interests, and abilities.
- Submit an updated treatment plan to the client or client team within 7 days of the supervision.
- Create and maintain behavior reduction programs.
- Conduct complete functional assessments and analyses of target behaviors and make recommendations including environmental changes and/or behavioral interventions.

- Train assistant and newly certified behavior analysts.
- Provide feedback on written products, including but not limited to technician feedback, program writing, and observation and assessment report writing.
- Model ethical and professional relationships and interactions with both clients and colleagues.
- Model effective technician and caregiver training, and provide opportunities for rehearsal and feedback.
- Provide consultation to professionals and clients in other languages and in other countries (primarily in Latin America at this time).
- Assist with client evaluations and meet with caregivers to discuss results.
- Provide guidance in treatment plan development and follow-through to teachers, technicians and caregivers.
- Provide in-vivo observation of therapy sessions and provide technician and client feedback on performance.
